What is the direction of the current flow in through the wire?
Answer: Option D We can use Fleming’s Left Hand Rule to determine the direction of the force on the current carrying wire. The real reason is due to the combined magnetic fields of the current carrying wire and magnets (as shown in the diagram). The resultant magnetic field creates an uneven magnetic field around the wire. The direction of the force on the wire is in the direction from strong magnetic field towards the weak magnetic field region.

Two parallel current-carrying wires with current in the same direction.
Answer: Option D Think of the lovers analogy. When both currents are in the same direction, it’s like couple in love, so attraction. Likewise, when the currents are in opposite direction, they quarrel, hence repulsion. On the magnitude of the force, always remember for electric force, magnetic force or gravitational force between objects, the forces are equal and opposite, action-reaction pair (Newton’s 3rd Law).

What happens to the reading on the electronic balance when current flow through the wire?
We are all familiar to applying FLHR to the current-carrying wire. But actually there is an equal and opposite force acting on the magnet too! Magnetic force is an action-reaction pair (Newton’s 3rd Law) View the video explanation What happens to the readings on the electronic balance when currents flow through the wire? https://youtu.be/6R32DsGNkic

Circuit Breaker - Analyse the diagram to understand how it operates 2022PPp2q10 and 2024PPp2q11
The diagram of circuit breaker may vary. So it is important that you analyse the structure of the circuit breaker in the diagram to understand how it works. The following are two examples of circuit breaker where the structures are different, but the basic working principles are the same. Video explanation part 01: 2022PPp2q10 2022PPp2q10 Suggested answers: Video explanation part 02: 2024PPp2q11 2024PPp2q11 Suggested answers:
